The project: As a consultant, my role was to analyse, to improve a few features of the email plugin Mailbutler and to tackle major drawbacks that the user could encounter. My role within the team: UX / UI Designer Duration: 3 days The story of the project: Mailbutler is an email extension that has a lot of features, like email tracking or tasks, that pairs with an existing email client (apple mail, gmail an outlook). The client contacted me to analyze and improve the user experience. The problem to solve: Mailbutler considered his plugin as subpar, regarding the UI and the user experience, and needed the expertise of a Designer to tackle main drawbacks that causes frictions, while using this extension. Strategy to find a solution: - Research - 1. Competitive Analysis 2. Business Requirements - Define - 3. Task Analysis - Test - 4. Preference Test How the solution solved the problem: Mailbutler took my expertise into account and will make relevant changes soon. The client was very happy with my insights, that will be beneficial for the business. The impact of the project for the business and the users: In the future, Mailbutler will gain new customers and improve his conversion rate. I also corrected several typos and sentence errors in French (the extension is plurilingual) that will improve the company's success over time. The challenges I faced: The lack of time during the lockdown, while having the kids at home. What I learned: With little changes it is possible to improve drastically the user experience on a product.
