The project: Extract the main color palette of several Apps, to be able to create a new one for our client, a Berliner art gallery.
My role: UI / UX Researcher
Duration: 1 week
The Story of the project: I was asked by a Berliner art gallery to gather visual information from a variety of different apps, for a new mobile project. The idea was to reproduce the general mood / feelings generated by the screens of each app. Once we had results for each screen, we could compare / analyze the psychological chromatic impact of each App and choose the right color strategy for our new App. The project is still under development and should be released soon (nda).
The problem to solve: How to choose the right color palette to generate the right emotions?
How to solve the problem: By making assumptions on how color work together, we were able to define emotions for each color palettes.
The impact of the project for the business and the users: By understanding the color palette we want to use, we will know which emotion we want to share and which statement we want to introduce.
The challenges I faced: So many colors, so many possibilities, so much emotions!
What I learned: To work with analogous color schemes.
